Coatee, North Durham Militia

Officer's Coatee, 2nd North Durham Militia, 1853-55. This scarlet coatee (jacket) has white facings (collar and cuffs) and silver lace. The silver buttons have the letters 'NDM' below a crown. The North Durham Miltia was formed in 1853 in Durham City. In 1881 the Regiment became the 4th Battalion DLI. Acc No: 983
