Gibside Hall
Caption in album (c.1932) reads: "Gibside Hall, an early 17th century mansion, is delightfully situated high up on the south bank of the Derwent, half a mile east of Rowlands Gill. It belongs to the Bowes family in the person of the Earl of Strathmore." The Hall was gutted in the 1920s and partly demolished in 1958 (Pevsner).
