Dr David Jenkins Bishop of Durham, officially welcomed to Durham at the Yorkshire border (Croft Bridge) by Mayor of Darlington Phillip Stamford-Bewlay. By tradition, the Bishop makes his first official entry to his Diocese this 15th century bridge, where he is presented with the Conyers Falchion, the sword with which Sir John Conyers slew the fearsome Cockburn Worm.
