Forage Cap, 68 Light Infantry

Officer's Undress Forage Cap, 68th Light Infantry, 1860s. This forage cap is made from dark blue cloth with a gilt band and black leather peak. The cap badge is the numeral '68' below a stringed bulge horn and is made from gilt wire. This cap is of the type worn by officers of the 68th Light Infantry during the New Zealand War, 1864-1866. During this campaign officers wore their blue undress uniforms rather than their scarlet full dress jackets. Acc No: 712
