Bicorne, 68 Light Infantry

Quarter Master's Full Dress Bicorne, 68th Light Infantry, 1870-1881. This bicorne or two-cornered hat is made from dark blue cloth decorated with gold lace and ostrich feathers. This type of hat was worn by the Quarter Master, who was responsible for supplying the Regiment with clothing, equipment, food and all other stores and necessities in barracks and on campaign. The Quarter Master was also responsible for the Regimental armourers, tailors, shoe makers and pioneers. Acc No: 996
