Shako, 68 Light Infantry

Officer's Shako, 68th Light Infantry, 1855-1861. This officer's Full Dress shako (hat) is made from black felt with a leather top, peak and edging. The shako plate (badge) is a gilt crowned star with the number '68' above a curved horn. After 1856 Light Infantry Regiments wore their shakos topped by a green horsehair plume, rather than a green worsted ball as shown here. Acc No: 671
