Lee Enfield Carbine Mark 1

Lee Enfield Carbine Rifle, Mark 1, 1900. This bolt-action carbine is recognised by its distinctive flattened and turned down bolt. This type of carbine, which had a calibre of .303", was used by British Mounted Infantry during the fighting in South Africa, 1899-1902. This particular rifle also has a dust cover over the bolt and a leather sight protector. Acc No: 439
