Officers' Mess Plate, 1st Volunteer Battalion, 1904. This white china plate is decorated with gold flecks and has a central battalion crest in green with 'Darlington Detachment'. The 1st Volunteer Battalion DLI recruited in the Darlington and Stockton area of County Durham. In 1908 it became the 5th (Territorial) Battalion DLI. Acc No: 606
