Bass Drum, 1 DLI

Bass Drum, 1st Battalion DLI, 1958-1968. This drum has a wooden shell with the skin heads tensioned with whitened ropes. Painted on the drum are the Royal Crest, Regimental badge and the DLI's Battle Honours up to the Regiment's last Battle Honour 'Korea'. The 1st Battalion DLI was a battalion of Regular soldiers. In 1968 it became the 4th Battalion The Light Infantry. Acc No: 1701
